Hunted - Part 4
It was a single chorus of bird song that awoke Blaine that morning, rousing him from the most wonderful sleep. Taking a deep breath of the fresh morning air, Blaine sighed contentedly as he recalled where he was an opening in the forest, a little off the path. The leaves of the tree under which he had slept rusted gently in the light breeze, and the sun shone down upon him, warming his skin pleasantly. The soft earth he was lay upon was as comfortable as any bed, and above him in the highest branches, the bird continued to sing.
Rolling over, the happiness Blaine had felt before he had fallen asleep came flooding back to him, as if th
